Ted Sarandos to Receive Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award at NATPE
Taking place once again at Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Resort, the reception will be hosted by late-night host Craig Ferguson. In honor of Tartikoff’s achievements in TV programming, the ceremony honors those in the industry who are making a similar, lasting mark in entertainment.
As the chief content officer of Netflix, Sarandos will get his award for the way he and his company have changed the game in TV and entertainment, especially as it pertains to the unique distribution methods behind its original “TV” series like “Arrested Development,” “House of Cards,” and “Orange Is the New Black,” among his other high-profile Netflix accomplishments.
Sarandos has already gained plenty of recognition since he began acquiring content for Netflix back in 2000. Overall, the man has spent upwards of 20 years in the entertainment industry. His latest initiative at Netflix includes the controversial upcoming day-and-date release of “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2” on the streaming service and at IMAX theaters, as well as a multi-picture movie deal with Adam Sandler.
The 12th annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards will also pay tribute to Linda Bell Blue, Gustavo Cisneros, Adriana Cisneros, Jay Leno, and Jonathan Murray.Tags: 2015 NATPE market and conference, brandon tartikoff legacy award, broadcasting & cable, multichannel news, NATPE, NATPE 2015, Netflix, Rod Perth, Ted Sarandos
