The Fine Bros. Debut Second Season of ‘MyMusic’

/ Aug 20, 2013

MyMusic,” a multi-platform workplace comedy from producers Benny and Rafi Fine, returns for a second season today on The Fine Brothers’ YouTube channel.

Described as a sitcom in the vein of “The Office” or “30 Rock,” the series follows the workplace shenanigans of a group of characters at an independent music studio. The second season will bring back stars Adam Busch (“Men at Work”), Tania Gunadi (“Enlisted”), and YouTuber Grace Helbig (“Daily Grace”), and add newcomers Lee Newton (SourceFed) and Paul Butcher (“Zoey 101”).

The second season will span six, TV-length episodes in total. However, the plan is to release new content in eight-minute segments every Tuesday through March 2014. Ostensibly, this will allow fans to watch and engage with the episodic content as well as a bunch of additional, non-video stuff the brotherly duo have planned for the second stuff. Once the segments have aired, the producers will repackage the eight-minute segments into six, 30-minute (ish) episodes.

“In Season One, we really strived to bring the characters to life in a way that fans felt they were real people. This season we’re taking the interactivity up a notch and creating more opportunities for fans to integrate with the MyMusic story universe,” said creator, Benny Fine, in a statement.

With that in mind, The Fine Brothers have launched, a satirical music blog described as “one part BuzzFeed and one part The Onion.” The blog joins an array of planned ancillary content that will tie directly into the second season storyline. Through the second season, The Fine Brothers plan to produce interactive Q&A shows, live music spotlights, and real-world concerts hosted by the show’s characters. Fans will also be able to follow the show’s cast across over 80 social media accounts, which directly add to the ongoing “MyMusic” storyline.

The first season, which amassed 30 million views, grabbed two IAWTV Award nominations and 10 Streamy nominations. Meanwhile, The Fine Brothers are nearing 6 million subscribers and 1 billion lifetime views on YouTube.
