‘The Interview’ Will Eventually Come to Crackle, Too
Sony Pictures Entertainment continues to expand the digital rollout of “The Interview.”
A day after announcing that Netflix will be the exclusive subscription home to the film in the US and Canada — a month after initially releasing the film on a variety of digital retailers — Sony will also make the controversial Seth Rogen comedy available for streaming on Crackle.
In doing so, Crackle, which is owned by Sony, will become the first free, ad-supported home for “The Interview.”
Sony did not reveal exactly when the film will be available on Crackle. Its Netflix run in the US and Canada begins on January 24. During its EST window, Sony says “The Interview” has made more than $40 million to date.Tags: Crackle, digital distribution, Seth Rogen, sony, Sony Pictures Entertainment, the interview
