Tia Mowry to Host New Series for Believe Entertainment, Meredith
Believe Entertainment Group is partnering with the Emmy-winning producer of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on a new reality series for Meredith Corp. — one of the first “tentpole” projects for the publisher as it attempts to grow its online video output.
Hosted by Tia Mowry, “Forever Family” will provide an intimate look into the lives of couples who are battling infertility as they try to conceive. Across 10 episodes, the series will look to entertain and educate viewers on the issue of infertility in America as it explores how people are finding new ways to conceive. A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, though it’s likely to premiere in the second half of 2015.
The series was created by Conrad Ricketts, a two-time Emmy-winning executive producer of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and Peter T. Cohen, a veteran reality-TV producer and long-time media and entertainment executive who’s worked at HBO, CNN, and MTV. Both will executive produce the series alongside Mowry and Believe Entertainment Group partners Dan Goodman, William H. Masterson III, and Danny Fishman.
As part of the deal with Meredith, the publisher says it will use its Meredith Originals team to promote and distribute “Forever Family.” The series will live on Meredith’s Parents.com, and will be promoted across the publisher’s owned-and-operated channels and network of syndication partners.
Meredith will also bring in its traditional-media resources, including print and “potentially” TV, to drive audiences to the show. Its magazines include Parents, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and Ladies’ Home Journal, and it owns 15 regional broadcast stations across the country.
Mowry, whose social presence includes 1.82 million followers on Twitter, will drive additional attention to the show.
Meredith will also launch a website for the series, which will provide support, information, and community elements to those dealing with the challenge of infertility.
“Forever Family” is fully financed by Believe Entertainment Group. The New York-based digital studio is behind a number of other star-driven online series, including LeBron James’ “The LeBrons,” DJ Tiesto’s “In the Booth,” and Jay Mohr’s “Money Where Your Mouth Is.” As with those shows, Believe handles all business aspects of “Forever Family,” including financing, selling, and distribution of the series.Tags: Believe Entertainment Group, Conrad Ricketts, Dan Goodman, Documentary Series, Meredith, Peter T.
