‘Tough Season’ Comes Back for a Second Fantasy Draft
“Tough Season,” the laughably dramatic Fantasy Football-based series featured on satirical news platform The Onion will come back for a second season. Onion Inc.’s continued partnership with Lenovo, an official National Football League sponsor, and global marketing and technology agency, DigitasLBi announced the creation of “Tough Season 2.”
The partnership allows Lenovo to advertise outside of the box, garnering publicity through a hilarious mini-series rather than straight-up advertisements. Lenovo along with Onion, Inc. released the first “Tough Season” in 2013, when it gained over 13 million views across all episodes. The show makes fun of Fantasy Football while displaying Lenovo’s newest products.
DigitasLBi’s collaboration also served to promote the series with NFL players like Andrew Luck, Larry Fitzgerald, and Matt Forte.
