Why Does YouTube Beat Facebook in Fan Engagement? It’s the Psychology

Recently I wrote about engagement rates in brand communities on YouTube versus Facebook; the data I gathered suggests that Facebook communities may be larger, but YouTube engagement runs far deeper. Getting Streaming Video Onto Screens Takes A Huge Amount Of Bandwidth — This Is How It Works

The Haps With Apps

The Vine and Instagram stars brands are courting

A picture may say a thousand words, but apparently a Vine can be worth $40,000. Both Vine, Twitter’s six-second video platform, and Facebook’s Instagram are growing fast. Vine boasts more than 25 million U.S. users, according to ComScore, and Instagram over three times that. Nigel Lythgoe Talks Broadcast Ratings and DanceOn Community Strengths

With broadcast ratings on the decline, networks are having to evaluate how to integrate social media and technology to keep audiences locked into legacy programming.
