TV4 Entertainment Teams with BH Media Group on New Combat-Sports Channel
On the 50th anniversary of the legendary boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston (which resulted in Ali winning the heavyweight boxing title for the first time), digital distributor TV4 Entertainment is partnering with BH Media Group to form a new combat-sports online video channel.
The new channel will be called the Undisputed Champion Network, and will offer all sorts of fight-related video content from around the world. Content will range from classic matches to original series profiling the “modern day kings of the ring,” to news and live-event coverage.
TV4E and BH Media Group have secured a syndication deal with The Boxing Channel to get access to the programmer’s library of current and archived boxing programming.
The partners are also in discussions with boxing legend Al Bernstein to develop several original series for the channel. This is in addition to other original fare already in development with content partners like the NY-based “The Ak & Hitch Show” and boxing journalists like Steve Kim and Gabriel Montoya.
UCN will be available beginning this spring online and across TV4E’s distribution partners including Hulu, Amazon, Roku, and YouTube.2
This is the fifth genre-based channel from TV4E, which has previously launched DocComTV (documentaries), the All Warrior Network (military), Throwback Television (classic TV), and the Dance Arts Network (performing arts).
BH Media Group, which produces content for television, film, and online platforms, was founded by veteran film and TV producers Art Horan and Damon Bingham. Horan was an executive producer on the critically-acclaimed Bryan Singer thriller “The Usual Suspects.” Bingham has produced several feature documentaries about the world of boxing, including “Tyson” and “One Night in Vegas,” an ESPN “30-for-30” production on the link between Mike Tyson and Tupac Shakur.Tags: 30 for 30, BH Media Group, Boxing, espn, Hulu, Roku, Sports, TV4 Entertainment
