Veria Living Begins Production on 70-Episode Wellness Web Series
Veria Living, a programmer of lifestyle and health and wellness content, has begun production on 70 new episodes of its original web series, “Health Soup,” which will roll out in 2014.
The NY-based programmer, whose multi-platform presence includes TV channels available on Cablevision/Optimum, DISH Network, and Verizon FiOS, picked up “Health Soup” after the success of four “pilot” episodes earlier this year. Veria Living, in partnership with Two River Pictures, produced those four episodes, as well as the fresh batch that’s premiering in 2014.
The web series will focus on providing tips on living healthier lives. It will feature a series of themed solo segments including “Veria on the Street,” in which writer/actor/comedian David Price asks random pedestrians “outrageous” health and wellness questions, and “Wellness Virgin,” during which Price “confronts unconventional types of wellness.” Other segments will feature the likes of Ereka Vetrini, a contestant on the first season of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” and Gwen Lawrence, who in the “United States of Yoga” segments will try out every known type of yoga class.
The first episodes will premiere on Veria.com “shortly after the New Year.”
Veria Living’s decision to launch the initial batch of pilot episodes was part of a strategy to produce new content for the web. The company says the strategy has helped grow traffic to Veria.com “15-fold,” with time-spent rising by 15% since October 2012.Tags: Health and Wellness Content, Lifestyle Content, Publishers, Veria Living
