VHX Now Has a Video ‘Library’ and Mobile App
Since launch, VHX has primarily remained in the background, powering the distribution of content on branded websites and pages. For instance, the service is used by “Camp Takota” creators to market and sell the film on its own website. Earlier this summer, VHX also built a branded digital storefront for kids VOD network Kabillion.
With the launch of VHX Library and the iOS app, the company now wants to grow user time and engagement on its own platforms.
Additional features on the app include support for AirPlay so users can beam videos to their Apple TV, and offline syncing so users can watch videos even if they’re not connected to the web.
To promote the new features, VHX is also making “Star Wars Uncut,” fan remake/mashup of the original “Star Wars” film, available for free. The film was created by VHX co-founder Casey Pugh, who won an Emmy for it before he started VHX.
