Video Effects App Vivoom Taps AwesomenessTV for New Campaign
Video-editing app Vivoom is partnering with AwesomenessTV to create a new branded campaign built around creators JennXPenn and Cimorelli.
The app, which was developed by visual effects company GenArts, allows users to record or upload footage, then add a library of filters and other effects to the video. Think of it like Instagram for video, except Vivoom doesn’t have a built-in social network. After adding filters and effects, users can share across a network of social media channels.
Developing custom “branded” effects based on JennXPenn and Cimorelli, Vivoom is asking fans to submit videos using the speciality collection for a contest, which will focus on raising hunger awareness.
While branded content has grown exponentially on and off YouTube, it is interesting to see the steps companies are taking to bring in new audiences by launching talent-driven campaigns. In this case, by launching a contest around JennXPenn and Cimorelli, Vivoom hopes the creators will be able to drive traffic to the app while simultaneously asking fans to create new content — in other words, downloads and active users.
Vivoom can be downloaded free at the App Store, where it currently sports a three-star rating.Tags: AwesomenessTV, Cimorelli, jennxpenn, Vivoom, youtube
