Vimeo Expands Language and Currency Options
Vimeo wants to encourage creators worldwide to use its video platform. Hence, its new subtitle and translation tools will now appear on the Vimeo Pro and Vimeo On Demand creator toolsets.
The subtitling tools give creators the option to create captions themselves or pay for a professional to do it. Powered by Amara, which boasts a network of subtitle editors, these tools either provide free edits to creators’ own subtitles or paid work from the network’s translators.
Amara will now assist with Vimeo translations in Japanese, German, French, and Spanish.
Furthermore, Vimeo has expanded its currency options. The 11 currencies available now on the video platform include the US, Canadian, Australian, and New Taiwan Dollar along with the Euro, British Pound, Japanese Yen, Russian Ruble, Swiss Franc, Swedish Krona, and Danish Krone.
According to Vimeo’s CEO, Kerry Trainor, the company will “continue to launch tools and services to better connect video creators and sellers with viewers wolrwide.”Tags: amara, subtitles, translation, Vimeo, vimeo creator toolkit, Vimeo On Demand, Vimeo Pro
