Vox Media’s Style Website Racked Unveils New Programming Slate

Vox Media is following up on its plans to produce more original video content. The digital media company’s beauty and style website Racked has announced several new web series, including its first scripted show.

Scripted series “Try Hards” stars the comedic duo known as SRSLY. It deals with “absurd” fashion trends and so far counts two episodes on the site.

As for unscripted content, Racked will host a series starring Lo Bosworth (of “The Hills”) called “Get Lo.” The show will follow Bosworth as she tries out various workouts and talks to “the nation’s hottest trainers.”

Racked Hauls,” a weekly program that features hauls from stores like Forever 21 and Lululemon, comes out every Monday at noon.

On February 12, the style website rolled out a video produced with the fashion magazine “Dazed & Confused.” It profiles writer Amy Rose Spiegel and was directed by photographer Columbine Goldsmith. Collaborations with other style outlets are expected to follow, Vox said.

This new slate of programming comes a couple of months after Vox raised $46.5 million from investment firm General Atlantic, valuing the company at around $380 million. The company noted then that the investment would be used, in part, to grow its online video production capabilities.
