Waywire Names New CTO, Adds Netflix’s Product Chief to Advisory Board
Waywire Networks, a service focused on providing video curation and discovery solutions for digital publishers, has hired Ben Fisher as it new chief technology officer. Previously, Fisher has served as a software engineer for multiple tech companies as well as Comcast.
In addition to appointing Fisher to a senior management role, Waywire also announced that Neil Hunt, chief product officer of Netflix, has joined its board of advisors. At Netflix, where he has been employed for the past 15 years, Hunt oversees the team responsible for the design and implementation of the streaming service across platforms.
“It’s clear that consumers are being overwhelmed by raw content,” Hunt said in a statement. “I’m excited to work with the [Waywire] team and help consumers get the kind of granular content experiences that they’re hungry for, in particular in the narrowcast channels that Waywire is now building.”
Waywire provides a platform for enterprise-level video discovery and curation. The company, which was acquired by Magnify Networks last year, works with an array of digital publishers and video networks.Tags: Ben Fisher, Exec Moves, Magnify Networks, Movers, Neil Hunt, Netflix, Waywire, Waywire Networks
