Netflix Said to Expand Web Service to France by Year-End

Netflix Inc. (NFLX), pressing ahead with its international expansion, will introduce its online video service in France by year-end, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The world’s largest subscription service, which produces the Emmy-winning political drama “House of Cards,” has mostly concluded talks with French regulators about how to pay for content and comply with streaming rules, said the person, who requested anonymity because the discussions are private.

Amazon Makes a Big Move, Snags Older HBO Shows For Web Streaming

You still can’t get new HBO shows like this season’s “Game of Thrones” without paying for TV. But starting in May, you’ll be able to get some of the premium cable channel’s older stuff online — via an Amazon Prime subscription. Adap.tv Hires 2 For Singapore Office

AOL’s Adap.tv on Tuesday announced the expansion of its recently opened Singapore office with two new hires. The company has named Arjan Bolhius and Tom Weaving as technical manager and regional sales account manager, respectively. Both Bolhius and Weaving join Adap.tv from Catcha Digital Asia. This is of note because Adap.tv’s Southeast Asia managing director, Alex Khan, also joined the company from Catcha.

MediaMath Inks Deals With Major Video Supply Partners

MediaMath on Tuesday announced partnerships with some of the biggest video ad supply partners in the industry in an effort to give media buyers access to global video ad inventory. The demand-side platform (DSP) has partnered with LiveRail, BrightRoll, Adap.tv and the DoubleClick Ad Exchange. In addition, the company recently tapped into SpotXchange’s inventory and plans to strike a deal with StickyADS.tv and others “soon.”

Dish Said to Target Summer Debut for Internet-TV Service

Dish Network Corp. (DISH) is targeting a summer debut for its Internet-TV service in the U.S., according to people familiar with the matter. Dish is telling programmers, including Comcast Corp. (CMCSA)’s NBCUniversal, that a late summer release date is possible, said the people, who asked not to be named because the negotiations are private. Dish, the second-largest U.S. satellite-TV operator, already signed up Walt Disney Co. for the service last month. A&E Television Networks LLC, Time Warner Inc.’s Turner Broadcasting and CBS Corp. also have spoken with Dish about Internet-TV rights, several people said.
