Amazon Streams Past Hulu and Apple — Still Behind Netflix, Though

Amazon wants you to know that it’s doing better than Hulu and Apple in terms of streaming video usage. But instead of releasing any internal data, the company is touting a study by video-delivery firm Qwilt that says streams on Prime Instant Video, across some US broadband networks, nearly tripled (278%) in the past year.

Production is underway on “Marco Polo,” an upcoming Netflix original series based on the adventures of the titular explorer.



Netflix is now streaming 4K, starting with ‘House of Cards’

At the beginning of the year, Netflix revealed that it would be producing all of its original shows in 4K — and now some of that content is finally available to stream. Unsurprisingly, the first show to get the ultra HD treatment is Netflix’s biggest original show, House of Cards. The company has confirmed that the recently launched second season of House of Cards is now available in 4K, along with “some nature documentaries.” Netflix had previously said that it planned to start airing 4K content in the spring.

Duo Join Netflix’s New Thriller Drama Series; Trio Book Recurring Roles In Pilots

Mia Kirshner (The L Word) and Waleed Zuaiter (Revolution, Homeland) have booked recurring roles on Netflix’s untitled psychological thriller drama from Sony Pictures TV. Written and executive produced by Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler (KZK), the 13-episode series centers on a close-knit family of four adult siblings (Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz) whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother (Mendelsohn) returns home.
