Former Yahoo CEO Ross Levinsohn Joins Board of Hot Video Site With Korean Dramas

If you follow the media business at all, you probably realize that “millennials” and even younger viewers don’t exactly watch TV like their parents (if they watch actual TV at all). But did you know they like watching subtitled Korean dramas?

According to comScore, the site, which offers soapy Korean hits like “Secret Love Affair,” reached 2.2 million unique users in the U.S. on desktop and mobile devices in May, up a whopping 268% in a year. The viewers aren’t just Korean Americans or expats, the company says – the content has broader appeal.

Disney, DreamWorks Plot and Finance Online Video’s Future

One of the unique attributes of online video is that its entire existence is built on experimentation that once would have been impossible because of the expense.

Unlike established entertainment and informational media, online is perpetually a blank slate. Ideas come and ideas go, rapidly—so rapidly that it’s easily possible to trace back where an idea started, then accelerated, and then began to fall apart.
