Weird Al Promotes ‘Mandatory Fun’ with Eight Days of Videos
Currently available on iTunes, Amazon, and through his own online music store, Weird Al Yankovic’s latest collection of musical parodies and originals, “Mandatory Fun,” comes with a digital video campaign. Titled #8videos8days, the project entails a new video that corresponds with a song in the collection being released every day for eight days.
Having begun yesterday, Weird Al will continue to roll out videos until July 21. His first video parodied Pharrell’s “Happy,” as Weird Al substituted the title word for “Tacky.” His video features actors like Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal (also starring in Hulu’s latest original series “The Hotwives of Orlando“), and Jack Black.
Today’s video goes with his song “Word Crimes,” which follows the melody of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.” You can watch it here:
