‘What’s Trending’ and Ford to Send One Lucky Artist to Bonnaroo
Emmy-nominated YouTube series “What’s Trending” is partnering with Ford to launch “Escape to Bonnaroo,” an online contest that will give an up-and-coming artist the chance to perform at Bonnaroo.
Beginning today, artists can upload links to their performances on the contest’s page at WhatsTrending.com. Based on how many people like and share submission videos, the contest will select five artists to perform on an upcoming music special at YouTube Space LA, which will be live-streamed on YouTube.
The winner of the special will be determined by a panel of guest judges from the YouTube community, including King Bach, Glozell Green, Chester See, Kandee Johnson, and “What’s Trending” co-founder/host Shira Lazar.
He/she/they will be then added to the official Bonnaroo lineup and perform an intimate set at The Garage by Ford lounge-space.
The contest is a partnership between “What’s Trending” and the Ford Escape. But it’s not the first time the show and the car company have linked up on a live event. Last December, “What’s Trending” produced and hosted a two-hour telethon, which was sponsored by Ford as part of its Fiesta Movement campaign.Tags: Bonnaroo, Chester See, Ford, ford escape, glozell, Kandee Johnson, music, Shira Lazar, What's Trending, Youtube Space LA
