WIGS’ ‘Blue’ Now Streaming on CTV Extend in Canada
Canadian television network CTV has gained the rights to digital series “Blue,” starring Julia Stiles. The show, which comes from YouTube-funded drama studio WIGS, premiered its third season on Hulu in the US this past March. In Canada, the show will be available exclusively on CTV Extend, CTV’s digital hub.
Seasons one through three are now available for streaming on the Canadian digital platform, which will be accompanied by additional footage like behind-the-scenes action from the perspectives of writers, actors, filmmakers, and the series’ other crew members.
“Blue,” also starring Uriah Shelton of “The Glades” and Eric Stoltz of “Pulp Fiction,” is written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia (“In Treatment”), the co-creator of WIGS. The series follows Stiles playing a single mother who seeks to hide her job as an escort from her 13-year-old son. Other actors on the show include Jane O’Hara, Kathleen Quinlan, William Petersen, and Carla Gallo.
Karen Graci co-writes the series, which is executive produced by Jon Avnet, Jake Avent, and Garcia. “Blue” will join a CTV Extend lineup that includes the shows “Guidestones: Sunflower Noir” and “Joke or Choke,” which also premiere this July.
CTV Extend streams video online in Canada on CTV.ca and through CTV GO. It was launched this past April and features original programming along with acquired content like “Blue.”Tags: Blue, Canada, CTV, CTV Extend, Eric Stoltz, Hulu, jane o'hara, Julia Stiles, kathleen quinlan, Rodrigo Garcia, Wigs, william petersen, youtube
