WWE’s Animated Web Series for Kids Is Coming to Nickelodeon
WWE’s digital kids’ show, “WWE Slam City,” is making its way onto television thanks to Nickelodeon. The children’s network has partnered with the wrestling-entertainment giant to get the animated series on Nicktoons, which will first air the program during the NickSports block on October 22 between 9pm and 11pm ET.
The short-form series includes 26 episodes, each of which run for two minutes. They showcase animated versions of stars such as John Cena, Randy Orton, The Miz, Kane, Rey Mysterio, Mark Henry, and Sheamus. “WWE Slam City” will air on a weekly basis during NickSports on Wednesdays.
The animated series represents the wrestling network’s effort to engage more with a (much) younger demographic. For example, WWE Studios worked to produce “Scooby-Doo WrestleMania Mystery” and has also formed partnerships with kid-friendly brands, like Kraft Foods and toy/game company Mattel.Tags: Animated Series, kids programming, Kraft, mattel, Nickelodeon, nicksports, nicktoons, web to tv, wwe, WWE Network, wwe slam city
