Yahoo and Live Nation Ready to Roll, Unveil Initial Lineup of Daily Concerts
At its DCNF presentation in late April, Yahoo announced a partnership with concert presenter Live Nation Entertainment to live-stream a full concert every day for an entire year. A few months later, the companies are ready to roll.
Yahoo has announced the initial lineup of concerts set to stream on the official Live Nation channel on Yahoo Screen, beginning with “A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band” from Jacksonville on July 15. Other artists confirmed for the channel include Usher, Gavin DeGraw, Common, Three Days Grace, The Fray, and more. (A full list of confirmed artists is available at the bottom of the post.)
Yahoo and Live Nation will also feature “special performances” from best-selling artists including Kiss (on their 40th anniversary tour), John Legend (performing Marvin Gaye’s classic album “What’s Going On” in its entirety, and Justin Timberlake and the Tennessee Kids (performing their first-ever concert in Reykjavik, Iceland.
As previously announced, in addition to the full concert stream, Yahoo and Live Nation will also make more than 1,200 of the “best songs” from these concerts available on an on-demand basis through next year. Exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage will also be made available.
Kellogg signed on to be the initial sponsor for the channel and concert streams.
