Shine America’s “Who Knew?” is returning for a fifth season on Yahoo News beginning today. The daily animated short-form news series, which offers interesting facts and trivia tied to current events and trending topics, is the longest running original program on Yahoo News. It will air its 800th episode sometime this summer. The fifth season will also feature a new format and on-screen graphics.

Toyota is also back as the exclusive sponsor for the fifth season. The automaker has been the series sponsor since “Who Knew?” launched on Yahoo News in 2010.

“Who Knew?” is executive produced by Derik Parrent and Woody Thompson (a veteran producer of online programming, including “The Frontrunners” for Fandango and “The Now” for MSN Video).
