If you want to watch the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, you will still need a TV.* The awards show is scheduled to air on CBS on Sunday, September 22. If you’re an Emmys junkie and want to watch original content related to the show, you will need to go to Yahoo, which is now the The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ “first official digital partner” for the Emmys.
So what does being an official digital partner for the Emmys entail? Yahoo plans to offer a variety of video content leading up to, during, and after the broadcast on CBS. This includes live coverage of the nominations announcements on July 18, a live-stream of the Emmys Red Carpet right before the CBS telecast, and live backstage coverage during the show. Yahoo will also cover the Governors Ball after the Emmys are over and done with.
This content will be available on a hub within Yahoo’s TV section.
The partnership also includes a future interview-style web series. Yahoo says it will offer a series called “An Evening With…” which will feature panel discussions about hit TV shows with the creators and stars of the shows. This series will be available “in the months following the awards.”
