Young Hollywood to Launch OTT Network in January
In January, Young Hollywood plans to launch its own over-the-top video network called Young Hollywood TV. Focused on celebrity and lifestyle content, the network will offer long-form series, both reality and scripted.
Young Hollywood has specialized in short-form video for a long time, and the move to long-form is strategic, allowing it to contend with the likes of, say, Hulu, with eight new, original series that will run about as long as network TV shows.
“By adding premium long-form content to our already vast library, we will continue to strengthen the Young Hollywood foothold in a rapidly developing digital market and provide transformative growth for our company,” said RJ Williams, founder and CEO of Young Hollywood, in a statement.
The company’s short video content has been available across various platforms, from Yahoo and AOL to Twitter and Young Hollywood’s website. The new OTT network will become available on Younghollywoodtv.com and on iOS, Android, Opera TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Blu-ray players, and Sony connected TVs when it’s released in January 2015.Tags: amazon fire tv, Android, celebrity, Connected TVs, iOS, lifestyle, long-form content, opera TV, OTT, Roku, young hollywood, young hollywood tv
