YouTube Brings Partner Program to Thailand
Boasting the second highest number of Gangnam Style views in the world (second only to the United States), Thailand has proved its love for YouTube. Now, the country will have something to show for it with it’s own partner program, much like the one that exists today in the U.S.
Youtube.co.th will now host spots for local advertisers and help Thai content creators get their work out on the site for the country (and the world) to see. Thai YouTube company VRZO has shown the potential for the new partner program, as they already employ upwards of 100 staff members and have 2 million plus subscribers, culminating in over 400 million views on their channel.
However, YouTube may still face challenges when it comes to content production in Thailand, as the platform has agreed to abide by censorships encouraged by the Thai government. Whether the spread of K-Pop will suffer from this aspect of YouTube’s Thai expansion, only time will tell.Tags: k-pop, Thailand, vrzo, youtube, YouTube Creators, youtube partner program
