YouTube Founders Shut Down Zeen, Shift Focus to MixBit
Digital magazine site Zeen, founded by YouTube birthers Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, is shutting its doors starting December 8, 2013. The Pinterest / Issuu hybrid site is shutting its doors so Hurley and Chen can focus on MixBit, the second startup to come out of the entrepreneurs’ company Avos.
While Zeen may not have taken off as quickly as the Avos team hoped it would, the social video app MixBit has been a relative success for Chen and Hurley. According to analytics site XYO, MixBit has been downloaded over 12,400 times for Android and more than 68,000 times for iPhone. It’s not YouTube-level success, but it’s coming along.Tags: Avos, chad hurley, MixBit, steve chen, youtube, Zeen
