YouTuber Superwoman Teams with CDS on New Spy/Beauty Series
YouTuber Lilly Singh, best known on the world’s biggest video site as Superwoman, has a new series launching on March 13.
Titled “Lana Steele. Makeup Spy,” the series is a mashup of spy, comedy, and beauty elements in which Singh plays a brilliant secret agent who goes undercover to complete her missions using “the transformational art of makeup,” and her arsenal of tools. In the series, when her arch-enemy dies, leaving only riddles to the location of a dangerous invention, she must race against other criminals to locate it before they do.
Produced by Collective Digital Studio, the YouTube network that manages Singh’s business on the video site, “Lana Steele” spans 12 scripted episodes, all of which will live on the ilovemakeup YouTube channel. Starting March 13 and running through May 22, new episodes of “Lana Steele” will be available on the channel every Friday.
Ilovemakeup was launched by CDS on behalf of cosmetics brand Bobbi Brown Makeup in September 2013. It now has close to 350,000 subscribers.
One of the top comedy creators on YouTube, Singh currently reaches more 5.2 million subscribers, and has accumulated over 615 million views to date.
