TYT regularly clocks over 50 million views per month through its network of 24 YouTube channels, but has a history of expanding beyond YouTube. For example, the network already has extra features like subscription and membership options for behind-the-scenes, archival, and on-demand videos.
But its expansion plans also involve non-YouTube channels too like podcasts or the Roku channel. The network’s partnership with OneScreen produced the Roku channel, and OneScreen will also be responsible for the Android and iOS streaming.
TYT Network COO Steve Oh observed, “We’ve racked up over a billion views on YouTube alone,” adding, “This initiative enables us to go beyond YouTube via mobile and connected devices, and we expect to rack up billions of more views across numerous platforms.” OneScreen CEO Atul Patel shared similar sentiments, saying, “Audiences are now expecting that the quality content they have come to enjoy on YouTube should be available everywhere else.”
Though the network’s YouTube channels collect between 100 and 120 million minutes of viewership per month, the month-old Roku channel already collects 300 thousand minutes of viewership per month — so it’ll be interesting to see how the added mobile options affect TYT’s overall viewership as well.
