Interactive storytelling platform Theatrics is launching a pair of new shows this week, which will deliver live and recorded content throughout October.
Fan-moderated site Wikia is partnering with Theatrics during New York Comic-Con to stream the convention’s Live Cosplay Contest. The broadcast will air during NYCC, which starts October 7 and runs through the week. The Theatrics platform will let fans interact in real time during the contest through a variety of blog posts, fan-made videos, and images all uploaded on the event’s Theatrics channel.
Theatrics is also using its proprietary storytelling platform to launch “The Ghost Club.” Taking the shape of a “web-based interactive reality show,” the web series will follow “professional” and would-be ghost hunters as they share their experiences. Using Theatrics’ interactive channel pages, fans will be able to document their ghostly investigations while linking up with like-minded spirit hunters just in time for Halloween. The paranormal project is created by production company The Secret Club and Michael Mailer Films.
Producers of “The Ghost Club” are using the event as a jumping off point for a transmedia “Storyscape,” which will see the release of a related ghost-hunting wiki, iOS app, independent feature film, and multiple ghoulish webisodes.
Theatrics interactive platform has featured multiple projects of note, including USA Network’s “PSYCH The S#cial Sector” and “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” sequel “Welcome to Sanditon.”
