The WWE and Film Roman are tag-teaming to launch a new animated web series for adults titled “Camp WWE.”
As you may have guessed based on the show’s title, “Camp WWE” looks at what the biggest names in wrestling were like as kids at camp. The show will feature wrestling giants (literally) such as CM Punk and Sheamus. The cartoon camp will be run by the hot-tempered Counselor McMahon, who is based on WWE CEO Vince McMahon.
If the world of animation were similar to the WWE, then Film Roman would be the world champions. The animation studio is responsible for shows like “The Simpsons” and “King of the Hill.” Penning the series is Mike Benson of “Entourage” and “The Bernie Mac Show” fame.
Thirteen three-minute episodes of “Camp WWE” will appear across all of WWE’s digital platforms. Both WWE and Film Roman have agreed to co-finance and co-produce the series.
