Kanye West is not the only one to create short films based on one of his albums. Lana Del Rey is doing the same thing with “Tropico,” a new 30-minute film that centers around three songs from her album “Born to Die — Paradise Edition.”
Like West’s “Runaway,” “Tropico” is sexually-charged, a bit weird, and trippy. In other words, some of you are going to love it, while others will love to hate it.
The film was directed by Anthony Mandler and stars Del Rey and model Shaun Ross. It was written by Del Rey and produced by Rick Rubin, Dan Heath, Tim Larcombe, and Rick Nowels.
