Male lifestyle publisher Complex Media continues to build out its Complex TV offering with the addition of four new shows to its original programming slate.
Three of the shows will debut in Q1 2014, including “Desus vs. Mero,” a pop-culture talk show based on a podcast of the same name; “The Drop,” a music series about EDM; and “10 Dishes,” a food show about what inspires some of the best chefs in New York.
The fourth, “Classic Status,” focusing on popular hip-hop debates, will premiere at a later date.
This brings Complex TV’s total original programming slate to 18 shows, including the recently premiered “Fashion Bros” and 13 others which premiered in 2013.
In addition to the four new shows, Complex has also renewed four existing programs for second seasons. These include “The Neighborhood,” in which popular artists give tours of the places that inspired them; “Quickstrike,” sneaker-lovers talking about sneakers; and “Cut & Show,” which takes viewers behind-the-scenes at some of the top fashion brands.
“Magnum Opus,” Complex’s award-winning flagship series, was renewed at an earlier date, bringing Complex’s “renewals slate” to five.
If that’s not enough, Complex says it’s also scaling video production for its news channel, Complex News, to create as much as 25 pieces of news-video content every day. Complex News went live on December 1, 2013.
