‘What’s Trending’ Rolls Out New Tech Platform to Curate ‘What’s Hot’ in Real Time

“What’s Trending” is a daily online talk show premised around the idea that there’s a lot of interesting, weird, crazy things on the web, and to sift through that you need the help of smart curators who know what’s actually worth paying attention to.
Now the company behind the show, also called What’s Trending, is rolling out a redesigned website, at whatstrending.com, to offer that type of curation in real time.
“We’ve always used data to determine what programming our audiences want to know about,” says Damon Berger, co-founder and CEO of What’s Trending. The company/show recently partnered with the designers at Xolator to develop a tech platform underneath the site that can make it easier for “What’s Trending” editors to curate “what’s hot in real time,” he says.
The interface is still in beta, says Berger, with plans to add more functionality across social networks and platforms.
