Gaming is a major category on YouTube. All you have to do is look at the seemingly endless amount of “Let’s Play” gaming videos, or actual shows about gaming, or the very existence of Machinima, one of the largest networks on YouTube, or, simply, how the most-subscribed creator on YouTube is a gamer who goes by the name PewDiePie.
Xbox, arguably the biggest gaming brand in the world, is aware of this. Starting today, the company is rolling out a new feature on the YouTube app for the Xbox One, which allows users to share videos on their Game DVR and Upload apps directly to their YouTube channel.
Here’s how the capability works: Game DVR allows users to capture gameplay, which can be edited via Upload Studio. Following that, search for “My Uploads” on the YouTube app and there you have it.
Speaking of user-generated content, Xbox also says it’s now offering a new GoPro app for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The app will feature content from GoPro users around the world, as well offer the ability to buy GoPro cameras and accessories.
