TV4 Entertainment is launching its first original series.
“McKenna,” a new half-hour interview series hosted by British self-help guru Paul McKenna, is now available via the Television Four channel on Hulu and Hulu Plus. The first few episodes are comprised of interviews with Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest, and Harvey Weinstein, focusing on each individual’s careers in the entertainment industry .
“This is a serious program about the craft of business,” said Paul Duddridge, TV4 Entertainment’s head of entertainment and the producer of “McKenna,” in a statement. “Paul is an ace interviewer, teasing out what makes people like Harvey Weinstein exceptional not as celebrities, but as business people that struggle with career highs and lows.”
Additional episodes of “McKenna” are currently in production, according to TV, and will be released throughout 2014.
The debut of the series doubles as the launch of TV4 Entertainment’s flagship entertainment channel, Television Four. Going forward, the channel will showcase the best original and classic programming across TV4’s portfolio of networks, which include the documentary channel DocComTV, the combat-sports channel Undisputed Champion Network, and the military-themed All Warrior Network.
Along with “McKenna,” other original web series on Television 4 include “Wineram,” which is described as the “world’s most intense wine show,” and “The Tommy Edison Experience,” hosted by blind film critic Tommy Edison.
The channel also offers access to “Combat Aviation,” a documentary series from the All Warrior Network that focuses on Army helicopters in battle in Afghanistan, and multiple documentaries from DocComTV, including “Sing Sing Thanksgiving,” a live concert special with BB King and Joan Baez from the famous Sing Sing Prison in 1973.
