BroadbandTV has renewed its existing YouTube rights-management deal with the NBA to manage fan-uploaded content on the site.
In place since April 2009, BroadbandTV handles the tracking, claiming, and monetization of all fan-uploaded NBA content on YouTube. With more than 5.7 million subscribers and 2.2 billion lifetime views, the NBA’s channel is one of the most popular in the sports category on YouTube.
BroadbandTV offers two technologies for media companies and brands to manage content, audience development, and monetization on YouTube. Viso Novi is used to detect and manage user videos, while Viso Catalyst focuses on audience development and engagement.
The Vancouver-based company also operates one of the top MCNs (by size), and last year raised $36 million from European broadcaster RTL Group.
