Vice has named Alyssa Mastromonaco, former assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff, its new chief operating officer.
As the COO, Mastromonaco will preside over all of Vice’s multi-media platforms. She’ll also work to expand the company’s network and create more partnerships once she assumes the post in January 2015.
Mastromonaco replaces Richard Waterlow, who will move to the brand’s London headquarters to become the president of Vice International (a newly created role at the company).
In her former position at the White House, Mastromonaco headed management and administration, also overseeing the budget for certain government events. She also worked heavily on Obama’s campaign in 2008.
