Discovery Digital Networks is carving out its own niche in the gaming world with Super Panic Frenzy, a brand that will focus on gaming news, live-streams, and “Let’s Plays” when it launches on March 23.
Hosts of Super Panic Frenzy content will include Phil DeFranco, Steven Suptic (aka mlgHwnT on YouTube), and Reina Scully (of SourceFedNerd). The Super Panic Frenzy YouTube channel will build its audience from their established fan bases on the video platform — DeFranco’s YouTube channel alone has over 3.4 million subscribers. Meanwhile, SourceFedNerd (which is owned by Discovery Digital Networks) will become a part of the Super Panic Frenzy umbrella on YouTube. It currently boasts over 766,000 subscribers.
In addition to YouTube, the new gaming brand will have home on Twitch (Twitch.tv/SuperPanicFrenzy). The DeFranco Games Twitch channel, which has over 242,000 followers, will also join Super Panic Frenzy’s Twitch network.
Super Panic Frenzy will feature guests from across Discovery Digital Networks’ brands. Fans will also appear in gaming live-streams alongside their favorite gaming creators, and skits/animation videos will debut on the Super Panic Frenzy’s platforms during weekends.
To give potential viewers incentive to subscribe to Super Panic Frenzy’s channel, Discovery Digital Networks will be giving away t-shirts and Xbox One’s signed by members of the Super Panic Frenzy team. Possibly the biggest incentive will be in the form of Suptic offering to either shave Scully’s head or wax SourceFed host Steve Zaragoza’s whole body if the channel gets 500,000 subscribers by the start of programming, on March 23.
