Cheo Hodari Coker, whose credits include co-executive producer for season two of Showtime’s “Ray Donovan” and supervising producer for season four TNT’s “Southland,” is on board as executive producer and showrunner. Per the deal, Coker will also write the first two episodes of the series, which will premiere in 2016 across all Netflix territories.
The series will feature Mike Colter (“The Good Wife”) in the titular role, who will first appear in the “Jessica Jones” series as part of the multi-show Netflix/Marvel universe.
“Luke Cage” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. The first show from this multi-year pact, “Daredevil,” is set to premiere in April.
