So far, only one of the four films has been named. “The Chosen,” which started shooting in Los Angeles in November 2014, will be the first of the Supergravity films to come out on Vimeo on Demand, on Friday, July 24, while it also gets its first screening just across the street from VidCon in Anaheim, California.
“The Chosen” stars YouTube personality and former teen boy band Our2ndLife member, Kian Lawley, in a thriller about demonic possession. Along with Supergravity, Terror Films produced the movie.
While “The Chosen” is available in theaters for a limited amount of time, the day-and-date digital release on Vimeo will count as an exclusive one for 30 days following its premiere. After that, the film will become available elsewhere on the internet.
As Max Benator and Marc Hustvedt, Supergravity’s founders, explained the company’s partnership with Vimeo, “We’re a direct-to-consumer film studio focused on marketing directly to the fans who are most passionate about our films. Vimeo On Demand is a direct transactional platform that curates high quality entertainment and then provides support with real marketing dollars. It’s a perfect fit.”
