Moves Media Ventures announced today that it is converting Moves Magazine, its digital media outlet covering sports, entertainment and luxury lifestyle, into an OTT platform featuring streaming video content named Moves.tv.
To help facilitate the transition, CEO and publisher Jay Levy and partners Kelli Fabian (president and editor-in-chief) and Rick French (editorial board chairman) are looking to secure $5 million in venture capital.
Levy estimates the transition to Moves.tv will take place over a six-month period. In addition to developing dedicated apps for mobile, tablet and television, Moves will also focus on off-site distribution and syndication to increase monetization opportunities. It plans to generate revenue with branded video content, digital advertising, event sponsorships and celebrity endorsement deals. Moves also announced a pair of executive hires who will help with the transition.
Dimitri Falk joins the company as partner and chief creative officer, overseeing experiential design, celebrity content and strategic social media campaigns. A photographer and filmmaker, Falk founded the New York digital creative houses Hyperbolic and iNDELIBLE, developing content for brands and celebrities including LVMH, Cartier, DKNY, Beyonce, Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima.
Adam Dubov joins Moves as SVP of network programming network programming. Dubov is a producer, director and writer who has directed digital strategy and branded content development at HBO, AOL and RealNetworks. In 2014, he earned a Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
