Food and dining destination AllRecipes today announced the launch of its updated web destination, AllRecipes.com, which will feature a more social-focused and mobile-friendly experience, putting video front and center.
AllRecipes is the latest food focused destination to make video a centerpiece of its content strategy, following the lead of Food Network, SmallScreen, and Tastemade. Unlike other food destinations, AllRecipes means to leverage the of user generated food and recipe content to drive traffic to their newly-updated destination. The new AllRecipes.com will embrace the social sharing culture that has made food one of the fastest growing verticals on video sharing platforms like YouTube. Members will be able to exchange recipes and other content including user generated video.
Launched in 1997, AllRecipes is part of the Meredith Corporation’s family of media outlets and properties designed primarily for women. The news of the revamped site comes on the heels of a push toward video at one of the company’s health and workout destinations, FitnessMagazine.com.
