The news comes on the heels of the channel’s biggest viral hit to-date, “How to make a $1500 Sandwich in 6 months.” Since being released on Sept. 15, the video it has racked up 1.8 million views. That’s a record for the group that specializes in creating videos about how to make everything from scratch, including food, clothing, medicine and energy, helping viewers better understand the complex manufacturing processes many take for granted.
The How To Make Everything team — comprised of creator and host Andy Georege, EP Henry Schneider, showrunner Chris Pack and supervising producer Brian Stemmler — will join a Collective Digital Studios roster that includes marquee names such as Rhett & Link’s Good Mythical Morning, Lilly Singh (aka IISuperwomanII), Corridor Digital, Explosm Entertainment’s Cyanide and Happiness, Meredith Foster, Matthew Santoro and pranksters Roman Atwood and VitalyzdTv.
Founded in 2005 as The Collective, Collective Digital Studio was originally a media production and management company operating in sports, music and traditional entertainment. The company later terminated most of its work in music and sports management to focus on the development of YouTube and digital video arm, CDS. Earlier this year, CDS was acquired by German telecom giant ProSiebenSat.1 which will soon merge the network with its own in house MCN Studio71 to launch multi-national MCN Collective Studio 71.
