WME is expanding its portfolio of digital stars once again with the addition of U.K.-based Vine personality Ben Phillips.
The comedian and prankster boasts a substantial social presence, including 1.3 million followers on Vine, where he first made a global impression staging pranks on friends and strangers. Phillips also has 3.5 million likes on Facebook, giving him one of the fastest growing profiles on the increasingly video-friendly platform. He is also a member of the Viner focused Collab digital network which helps Vine stars to translate their audiences across multiple platforms and locate new opportunities for monetization.
Phillips was signed by members of WME’s U.K.-based team for representation in multiple verticals, including book publishing, digital platforms, television, commercials and personal appearances. WME has been working to rapidly scale it’s digital roster, signing content producers such as Defy Media, Jukin Media and Portal A, as well as individual content creators including Casey Neistat, VSauce and Caspar Lee. As part of the agency’s growing commitment to the digital space, it recently added a full-time digital agent to its U.K .office to actively develop talents acquisitions like Phillips.
