With Thanksgiving just three days away, YouTube is asking creators to go beyond being grateful for what they have and get people thinking about what they may have to say goodbye to. The streaming giant is encouraging people to upload videos about how climate change could impact the things they love, marked with the hashtag #OursToLose.
Additionally, YouTube has enlisted creators from around the world, including Casey Neistat (U.S.), Finn Harries (U.K.), Golden Moustache (France), Jamie Curry (New Zealand) and Flavia Calina (Brazil), to encourage people to sign the Avaaz petition, a campaign aimed at delivering clean energy worldwide by 2050.
The #OursToLose campaign is being launched as a lead-up to COP21, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change. Set to be held in Paris from Nov. 30 through Dec. 11, it will bring together leaders from around the world together to develop a global climate agreement.
