The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has revealed the preliminary schedule for the fifth annual Digital Content NewFronts.
An online video version of the linear TV networks’ upfront presentations, the 2016 NewFronts will be held May 2–13 at various venues throughout New York City.
The 10-day conference will have more than three dozen top digital producers showcasing their programming slates for advertisers and media buyers.
NewFronts’ co-founders AOL, DigitasLBi, Google/YouTube, Hulu and Yahoo will be joined by AwesomenessTV, Bloomberg Media, BuzzFeed, Collective Digital Studio, Condé Nast Entertainment, DailyMail.com/Elite Daily, Defy Media, Federated Media, Fullscreen, HealthiNation, Hearst, Machinima, Maker Studios, Mashable, Mode Media, National Geographic, The New York Times, NowThis, Playboy, Popsugar, Refinery29, StyleHaul, TheStreet.com, Time Inc., Time Warner Cable, Trusted Media Brands, Vevo, Vice, WebMD, Whistle Sports Network, and Woven Digital.
For the fourth consecutive year, IAB will serve as managing partner of the NewFronts, handling logistics, marketing and communications. But each of the events will be e produced by the individual content producers and require separate invites.
The IAB expects to add additional producers to the schedule in the coming weeks.
“In short order, the NewFronts has become a ‘must-attend’ for brands and media buyers, especially if they are looking to reach the coveted 18–34 year-old demographic,” said Anna Bager, SVO and general manager of mobile and video for IAB, in a statement. “Advertisers and agencies can certainly expect to see to some truly impressive and exhilarating original programming — content that is sure to spark even more investment in the medium.”
According to IAB data, original digital video content now has a viewership of 59 million, and marketers have responded to its growing popularity by spending $3.3 billion on it in 2015, an increase of 17 percent from 2013. The IAB will introduce several new studies on the digital video space at a luncheon hosted by the IAB Digital Video Center of Excellence during the second week of the New Fronts.
