Cinedigm has launched four over-the-top networks — Docurama, fandom network CONtv, esports and gaming network Wham, and family-lifestyle focused Dove Channel. Now, the programmer is hoping it can expand its viewership and brands internationally with the help of Dr. Oz’s international distributor JungoTV.
According to Erick Opeka, EVP of Digital Networks for Cinedigm, “JungoTV’s significant expertise and lead in [the A-Pac, Middle Eastern, Indian, and African] markets” will help the company not only expand its global audience but also drive fresh linear and OTT deals in those territories.
“These markets provide fertile ground for content producers and major media networks looking to grow in the digital and video on-demand space,” said George Chung, CEO of JungoTV.
As a distributor primarily focused on the United States, Cinedigm has brokered syndication and distribution deals with a stable of who’s who companies in the U.S. Among them are iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, Comcast, Dish Network and DirecTV, and major retailers including Walmart and Target.
“Our primary goal for the networks business this year is to grow quickly by rapidly expanding our distribution footprint both domestically and across the globe,” added Opeka.
