Last Friday, Nitro Circus, an action sports entertainment brand, launched its all-new original series, “Mic’d Up,” on Facebook’s new video platform. So far, the first episode has garnered 1 million views to date. Today, the action sports brand hopes to duplicate that success with the release of the second episode starring action sports icon and Nitro Circus co-founder Travis Pastrana.
“For years, Nitro Circus has heavily invested in original video programming on Facebook and we are excited to see that our first series on the new Watch platform is being so well received,” expressed Mike Cowan, Nitro Circus’ Chief Digital Officer.
Nitro plans to release an episode each week that will star athletes including Ryan Williams, Josh Sheehan, and Ethen Roberts.
“We have worked very closely with Facebook for the past few years and have built a great relationship with their team. Now we are very excited to join this new venture,” said Trip Taylor, Nitro Circus’ Senior Vice President of Media. “Nitro has had great success in television and film and we are building a strong presence in this very dynamic arena. With content getting consumed in more ways than ever before it’s important to stay a step ahead and Facebook’s Watch is at the forefront of this ever-evolving space.”
Compared to other videos released on the Watch Platform, the million views obtained by “Mic’d Up” isn’t out of the ordinary. Actually, compared to an episode released last Friday from The Comeback Kids: Animal Edition about a dog who lost her legs ( which attracted over 14 million views), the amount is a bit low. However, 1 million views is a nice ray of light for Nitro considering that as of today the combined views of its last 10 videos amounted to a little over 900,000.
